Natural disasters or calamities often come and go. It is formed because of the unbalanced climate the world is experiencing. It is developed from low pressured areas turning into dangerous super typhoons, hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes. Typhoons are natural disasters situated in the east side of the globe pouring light or heavy rain and sometimes bring floods, landslides near mountainous areas or storm surges on coastal areas depending on the wind velocity of the typhoon. Hurricanes, on the other hand, are formed in the west side of the globe and it brings strong winds, and hail among others. When tectonic plates move, an earthquake may occur and a tsunami may follow depending on the intensity of the earthquake.

These natural disasters can hit your country any time of the season. It causes major damage on your house, and other properties. It also causes serious physical injuries and even leads to death. Donation or rehabilitation can help you and other calamity victims. These are separate powerful tools to lighten the burden that you’re experiencing during a natural disaster.

A donation is an act of giving. Donations can be in various forms. It can be a monetary fund directly or indirectly given to you by the government or from a local or international organization. It can be in a form of supplies. Most of the time monetary fund is often converted by these organizations because it is more convenient. It is converted into supplies needed by you and other calamity victims such as food, water, clothing, rechargeable lights and other basic necessity. Although donations are very common and many individual do this with a simple call or a click of a button, sometimes it is very hard to manage. A donation may take days or even weeks to process before it can reach its destination. Some donations in the form of goods are often unnecessary to give out to victims. Sometimes too much monetary donations given by donors can cause major problems to organizations and the government. They need to know how much money should be raised to help victims and set a mark until when they should accept monetary funds. Donations are often short-term aid from weeks or several months after the disaster had happened.

Rehabilitation, on the other hand, is a program of the government and other international organizations that provides you and other calamity victims’ immediate aid and support. Rehabilitation, like donations, provides calamity victims the basic necessity like shelter (temporary housing programs), food (canned goods, water or instant food) clothing (blankets, garments) and other supplies (rechargeable lights). In some cases, they can support you and even your community to get back on your feet by providing you livelihood programs. These livelihood programs are often generated to long-term use of calamity victims.

During these calamities not only your own government is helping but local and international organizations around the world as well. Rehabilitation is much better and more beneficial to you and other calamity victims. Think.
