Sinking Ferry In South Korea Many South Korean families have been struck by tragedy when a ferry sank on April 16th. The ferry was carrying mostly high school students, 330 to be exact. The total number of people on board at the time was 429. Currently there are still many people missing. Many of the survivors suffered various injuries and have been taken to a hospital for treatments. The ferry was on its way to Jeju Island, a popular destination for tourists. According to the desperate messages send by its passengers before the tragedy, the boat hit something and a loud noise was heard. They also mention that the ferry started tilting immediately to a side.
