Life is precious, we need to cherish every moment with our loved ones. Yet, we keep arguing with them. The next time you’re about to do so, considering the following disasters taking place at any moment around the globe: Natural, War and Political.
1) Natural: It’s an event caused due to nature, resulting in destruction of property and human life. Example: Hurricane Sandy Category 2: winds 96-110 mph. It’s a hurricane that started in the Caribbean and reached to east of US. The waves reached 8 ½ feet (2.5908m) in New Jersey. It’s the most dangerous hurricane to disrupt northeast of the United States of America. It resulted in 72 deaths between Maryland and New Hampshire. Also it resulted in $50 billion loss, destroying 650,000 homes and leaving 8,000 people without any electricity. Psychology: “I feel my heart palpitating with the loss of everything,” said Carol Stenquist, whose home was destroyed.
2) Civil War: When people of a nation attack each other. Example: Syria War, 2011 People started peaceful demonstration against lack of political reform. The Baathist party had been ruling for 50 years. The government responded violently, destroying neighborhoods and torturing demonstrators. This led demonstrators to arm themselves and fire back in response creating the current situation. Psychological: Children witness the murder f their parents of their eyes. The lack of protection leads to violence in settling their problems. Also, they may believe there’s no justice in the world.
3) Political: when the public feels their demands aren’t being met, they demonstrate. Ukraine Riots: It all started when President Viktor Yanukovych refused to sign EU membership deal, opting instead to side with Russia. This led demonstrators to flood the central square, known as the Maidan, pressuring him to approve the deal. Some of the benefits of joining the EU include movement of goods and services without any restriction. On the other hand, Ukraine is dependent on Russian gas to get through the winter. So far, the parliament has ousted the president and Oleksandr Turchynov is the temporary president. Psychological: On Tuesday, the Ukrainian currency, hryvnia has lost 6% of its value dropping to 9.71 vs the US dollar.
In conclusion, always remember if your life is hard, there are people in far more terrible situation. Count your blessing and appreciate your loved one.
