Different parts of the world have witnessed natural disasters and its effects. Natural disasters effect can include losing lives, losing properties, losing sources of income, and losing peace of mind. A lot of people had no choice but to suffer all of these and endure the effects of different natural disasters. Natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, and snowstorms to severe ones such as hurricanes, monster typhoons, and tsunamis make history year after year and there will surely be a lot more to come. • Life loss. Perhaps the biggest and saddest effect of natural disasters is life loss. During such events, people lose their loved ones. A lot of people lost parents, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and friends. There are no words that can describe such loss. Aside from human life, natural disasters also take the lives of animals and of plants.
• Injuries. Not all people die during natural disasters. However, one natural disasters effect is leaving numerous people badly hurt or injured. Most often, people are hit by debris or are left buried under destroyed structures.
• Destruction. A lot of people witnessed natural disasters destroy different structures. These structures include homes, government buildings, business establishments, and a lot more. One of the most painful things is to see one’s home crumble right in front of his or her eyes, taking all the special memories in it to the ground. Business establishments and government facilities destruction also hurts the country’s economic status.
• Communication Loss. Communication is very important and it is a natural disasters effect that can hurt different aspects of a country. It helps the overall economic status of the country, the safety and security of the citizens as it may cause people to panic, and the citizens’ peace of mind as loss of communication will definitely cause the people to worry.
• Transportation Disruption. Natural disasters can also mess up different transportation system operations. This is a problem that will surely prevent people from going to where their loved ones are and from people from going to and from their workplace and schools. This will leave business and government operations disrupted.
• Utilities Disruption. Aside from business and government processes disruption, utilities such as electricity, water, cable TV, internet, phone, and others services are usually cut off. This is why during natural disasters, people are asked to prepare battery operated radios and flashlights.
• Sickness. During different calamities, people are usually gathered in evacuation centers, especially those who live in a severely affected area. During these times, there are limited spaces, food, and safe water sources. This is why in such times, sickness and diseases start and spread easily. This endangers a lot of people’s health so the government should pay attention to the disaster victims. If taken for granted, such illnesses may result to a full-blown epidemic that may take more lives and apart from the lives that the natural disaster directly took.
• Panic. A lot of people panic as they fear for their lives. This is an ordinary natural disasters effect.
